This might be the first time I've really painted Professor X. I mean, I painted a silhouette of 90s Xavier on the packaging of a set of commissions but that doesn't count. It was just all black paint. But Krakoa era Professor X is different..he's pretty much all black too haha. I can't tell if I like his design or not. It's definitely different but I can't help but think about the strain on his neck and I feel claustrophobic just looking at him. Kind of reminds me of Monica Gellar on Thanksgiving. There's a commission idea! Regardless, it was awesome to paint. He's simple and difficult to paint at the same time. It invites creativity and challenges while resisting to add all sorts of craziness to his design.
